For 52 years, JobTrain has helped people realize their potential and move from unemployment or poverty-level employment to middle-income jobs and long-term success.  Since 1965 JobTrain has provided programs and services to over 190,000 people throughout the Bay Area.

Our students are people who need more than just training; they are people who have had many challenges in life; they may not have graduated high school, may be single parents or have been in trouble with the law. They come to JobTrain for a fresh start and to gain the necessary skills to find a job that will support them and their families.

In Fiscal Year 2017, JobTrain's placement and retention rates for its vocational training were high: For those in our vocational training programs, our placement and retention numbers were high: 83% completed their training program, 81% of these graduates were placed in good jobs and of these 85% were still working one year later.

JobTrain offers full-time vocational training at no cost to our students which include: Business Office Administration Skills, Culinary Arts, Project Build- Carpenter Pre-Apprenticeship, Medical Office Assistant, Professional Health Care Worker and Web Technology Skills. These programs emphasize careers in high demand industries that lead to long-term stability. Students can also benefit from upgrade trainings which help them advance their careers. Offerings include GED preparation, Academic Skills for Employment, ESL and Computer Literacy. Job placement and support services empower students to set and achieve their goals.
