Junior was diagnosed in July 2007 of Acute Myeloid Leukemia or AML as it is commonly known. He underwent seven intense months of chemotherapy, radiation, and two bone-marrow transplants. During his treatment, Junior dedicated himself to always being the center of attention on Unit 4800 providing infants to teenagers a time of laughter and delight. Junior wore a smile day in and day out and was thrilled at the idea of going home and spending time with family and friends whenever possible. On March 8, 2008, Junior relapsed and had to begin a new series of chemotherapy and treatment. He returned to the hospital ready to conquer his challenge and this time around, he received his first bone marrow transplant. After continuing treatment, Junior was allowed to return home and went into remission.  Months passed and in October 2008, Junior relapsed yet another time and had to begin another series of treatment. Once again, Junior faced his challenge with bravery and valor. A second bone marrow transplant was given to Junior in November 2008, where the idea of Junior Foundation Charities arose in his mind. Junior’s desire was to provide all the children going through a cancer diagnosis with all the basic necessities they might need along with an infinite amount of gifts. Junior became an angel on December 11, 2008 leaving us with a smile and countless memories. Junior will forever be remembered through his immense courage and will remain forever sealed in our hearts.  We strive to make dealing with childhood cancer just a bit easier for our heroes and their families through the implementation of various programs. All programs are available to registered Junior Foundation families at no cost.
