Junior League of Bakersfield

A nonprofit organization

The Junior League of Bakersfield is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Junior League of Bakersfield provides enabling fund grants and project grants to local non-profits that fit in the mission of JLB. Some of our current projects are Birthday Parties at the Bakersfield Homeless Center, a reading program at the Jamison Center, and a collaberation with Garden Pathways for the GAP (Girls Achievement Program), a program for pre-emancipated foster girls.

The Junior League of Bakersfield was founded in 1965. In 2015, JLB celebrated the 50th Anniversary by awarding a $50,000 grant to the Kern County Museum for the Lori Brock Discovery Center.

Junior League of Bakersfield is a group of women volunteers and are always looking for new volunteers and members.
