Who we are: a group of staff, teachers, volunteers, entrepreneurs, and businesses who work together to provide economic education and financial literacy programs to the youth of Western Massachusetts.
What we achieved in '16-'17:
Why we need you: schools can't do it alone. JAWM impacts over 12,000 local students per year; that's 81 schools in 25 different districts with students who have new tools to succeed in a growing global economy, where they otherwise might not. 61% of the students we serve are classified as "high needs" which include students at risk of educational failure, such as students who are living in poverty, who attend high-minority schools, who are far below grade level, who have left school before receiving a regular high school diploma, who are at risk of not graduating with a diploma on time, who are homeless, who are in foster care, who have been incarcerated, who have disabilities, and who are English learners.
Why we care: this foundation of financial literacy will support economic security for youth, their families, and our community. Our kids need your help to craft the leaders of tomorrow. 55% of our population serves low-to-moderate income young people who do not have the means to be educated in personal and life finances.
How will your support help our Mission: by reaching our goal of $3,000, doubling last year's efforts, we will be able to reach 115 more students this year alone. Your donation could convince a struggling student to stay in school, spark the imagination of the next entrepreneur, or help a student budget, plan, and better manage his/her money.
At JA, we teach life. Are you ready to make a difference?
