Just Harvest Education Fund

A nonprofit organization

Just Harvest works to promote a just system of food access by addressing the root causes of hunger - systemic poverty and inequity - through policy advocacy, grassroots organizing, community-based solutions, and connecting people to benefits.

"The Future of Justice isn't charity-it's transformation."

Just Harvest was founded nearly 40 years ago and is based in a long tradition of movements for social and economic justice. We focus on the immediate needs of our neighbors who experience hunger and on winning long-term public policy change for people in Pittsburgh and beyond.

Our vision:
• Everyone has access to the food and resources they need to thrive
• Our government prioritizes people over profit
• Empowered communities with democratic equity

Our team has helped tens of thousands of people access critical benefits to keep food on the table, and our programs have also helped people access tens of millions of dollars in nutrition assistance, tax credits, and other government benefits.

Testimonials

"The SNAP team at Just Harvest which has been integral to patients and families here at Children's Hospital. Just Harvest has been able to provide to our staff pertinent SNAP policy updates and what those mean for the families we refer. Additionally, when referral cases get complicated, your Children's Hospital point person is available to work closely with me to do the necessary go-between work and make sure cases are handled appropriately. Thank you so much for the work your teams continue to do for our families. It is irreplaceable."
