The Heroic Love Stories Of Marriage Equality

A nonprofit organization

The world needs triumphant queer stories. JustMarried needs you!

LGBTQ+ book banning is both unconscionable and also rapidly spreading.  Vital historical projects like JustMarried: The Heroic Love Stories of Marriage Equality, a one-of-a-kind collection of our very own heroes, must contend not only with tactics to suppress our true stories, but also with the high cost of producing and promoting these true and courageous love stories, in three-important mediums: a coffee-table book, a serialized podcast and on film.

Marriage equality history extends beyond the legal rights.

Whether one believes that marriage is right for them or not, one irrefutable outcome of simply having this right is that it tells the world around us:

that our love was right, all along.

The stories themselves–inhabit a wide variety of age, race, religion, gender
identity, political and social economic backgrounds.

After two decades of documenting, we are very excited to announce that our book publishing partner for JustMarried will be Rizzoli Books! One of the premiere book publishers in the world. This partnership will ensure many more people will know of the bravery that gave us a more equal place in society.

“Rizzoli has long published some of the most beautiful illustrated books in the world.”       —The New York Times

One of the best tools we have to create change–are the stories we tell about our lives.

Jack Baker and Michael McConnell, who fought for five decades to legitimize their/the first legal LGBTQ+ marriage license maintain, "Love is the most powerful force in the universe, it can and does transform everything'. The team at JustMarried agrees.

While we have made so much progress, we have a lot of costly work ahead of us, including making more podcast episodes to release this fall pre-election!  And promotion to make sure that people in underserved areas have access to this collection of courageous stories that individually helped capture the compassion of our country.

Please consider a generous, tax-deductible gift today to ensure our consequential project can continue expanding LGBTQ+ voices while preserving and protecting the right to marry.

Jim Obergefell, the named plaintiff in the 2015 landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges,  that won marriage equality nationwide explains:

A portion of the proceeds from our book and in fact our entire campaign will benefit Family Equality, as we each have a shared mission to protect LGBTQ+ families. Because of the bravery of the people in our project, there will be a generation of kids who can grow up dreaming of having a family like any other citizen of this country.

You can help. Your gifts today will take JustMarried one step closer to completing and promoting the love-affirming work the we've proudly researched for over two decades.

Thank you!
