K-5 STEM at Boren

Islandwood is an environmental overnight camp located on Bainbridge Island. At Islandwood students spend 4 days and 3 nights immersed in the outdoor world. Students are able to learn about ecosystems, build a stronger classroom community and develop a mindset that encourages stewardship and sustainability.

 

Last year many students returned from Islandwood saying that it was the highlight of the year. It was amazing seeing the high levels of engagement from all students. It was also such a valuable bonding time for our grade. Students came back from Islandwood with a better understanding of each other. This stimulated a more supportive community, leading to collaboration that was much richer than before.

 

In order for our fourth graders to be able to attend Islandwood this year we need your help! Our class needs to raise over $3,000 to make this experience possible.
