Klippel-Trenaunay (K-T) and other Complex Lymphatic Vascular Malformations (CLVM/AVM) are extremely rare congenital conditions affecting multiple body systems (capillary, venous, lymphatic, arterial). They might involve extensive diffuse capillary malformation (port wine stain) overlying arterial, venous and/or lymphatic malformations, hypertrophy (overgrowth) of bony and soft tissues, wide range of skeletal and skin abnormalities, limb length discrepancies, and internal organ involvement (lungs, spleen, liver, bladder, colon).

Complications include lymphedema, bleeding, superficial and/or deep vein blood clots, pulmonary embolus, infection, non-healing wounds, skin breakdown and ulceration, lymphatic "blebs", vertebral scoliosis, gait abnormalities, joint damage and chronic pain.

THEY ARE NOT INHERITED AND THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS.

Complex vascular malformations occur once in every 100,000 births. Current management methods are not effective. We need funds to promote research for a better way to address the pain and mobility issues.
