The Kalamazoo Humane Society was founded in 1897 and has been an organization developed with various community minded programs to help individuals and their pets in the community.  Programs such as an Emergency Pet Food Bank to help those individuals who are currently out of work, disabled, elderly or finding themselves in tough financial situation.  We also have a very popular spay/neuter program called Operation Fix-It (OFI).  This low-cost program was designed to help pet owners get their pets altered at an affordable rate which then helps to lower the number of animals going into shelters or rescues from unwanted litters. It is our non-lethal way of controlling pet over population.  We perform over 4000 surgeries each year and have altered over 55,000 animals since 2002.  Your gift will help us achieve a better environment for all pets.
