Karen F. J. Evans Memorial Fund

 The Karen Evans Memorial Foundation, with the help of the Community Foundation of Utah (CFU) is a donor-advised fund that enables us to  target arts programs, visual and language arts education for children, and mental health and suicide prevention efforts geared toward adolescents in the greater Rocky Mountain region. It is part of the Give Utah campaign. If you have some inclination to give to one of the many nonprofits in Utah that do great good with modest funds, March 26 is a day to thank them for their efforts.

Your gift will help build a permanent fund from which we hope to help the lives of others.  This online system is secure, and you'll automatically get a reciept for your tax-deductible donation.

In 2014, the fund supported the Logan High School Arts program for new cameras; we also funded the startup of five Hope Squads by Hope For Utah, which is a program to develop suicide prevention and mental health support in schools.  The startups are in rural parts of Utah, where funds for such efforts are hard to come by.  The schools we helped are the Iron School district in southern Utah; the Tooele district, west of Salt Lake City; The Merit Academy in the Provo area; and two schools in the Uintah School district in the Uintah Basin.  

We also funded some of the efforts of the Cache Youth Outreach Center, a support group for at risk, homeless, and shunned youth in our community.  

The group that helps with the fund raising, Razoo, and the Community fund fo Utah each have a modest fee associated with the work. There are no other administrative fees - we do the work of selecting the programs to fund, determining the need, and sending them the funds.
