In a world torn apart by violence, the process of building peaceful, authentic relationships is necessary for our mutual security and survival. Over the past 20 years, the Karuna Center has worked to bring about positive change in over 30 conflict-affected countries. Whether we are partnering with grassroots communities or government ministries, we support people to build new futures out of the depths of violent conflict.

Our work is diverse: we are bringing together religious leaders and secular parties to defuse violent extremism in Pakistan, in partnership with Critical Connections; we are working with the Pricing Carbon Initiative to overcome obstacles among climate policy advocates in the US; we co-facilitated the design of a national dialogue in the midst of the Central African Republic Civil War; and we now advise the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) leadership on conflict prevention. We also work with Critical Connections to co-organize local dialogues and educational events that bridge divides with Muslim Americans in the Pioneer Valley.

Your gift allows us to develop, facilitate, and support new organizations, initiatives, and leadership through skill-building workshops, structured dialogue, and long-term programs in divided communities. With your help, we will continue to bring participants together in a safe space to identify the roots of the conflicts that separate us, develop new collaborations, and construct a more peaceful future based in respect for our common humanity.
