Kathleen Barsotti Nonprofit for Sustainable Agriculture

Founded in 2009, the Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture is founded in memory of Kathleen Barsotti.

Kathleen was a pioeer in the organic foods movement, founding one of the first certified organic farms in Northern California, playing an instrumental role in the creation of the renowned Davis Farmers Market, and starting the successful CSA Farm Fresh To You.

Kathleen passed away in 2000 after a nine year battle with breast cancer. She is beloved by all who knew her as a devoted student to ecological sciences, an excellent farmer, and loving mother of four sons.

Today, the KBNP works to support the syle of agriculture Kathleen spent ber lifetime creating.

KBNP provides hundreds of backpacks filled with school supplies to the children of farm workers, provides a college scholarship to a young-adult with ambitions of working in sustainable agriculture, and helps make English as a second language classes assessable to farm workers.
