Due to drastic cuts in federal funding, the future of vital mental health services for under-resourced communities remain uncertain. Take action this Mental Health Awareness Month by supporting KCCEB’s “Mental Health Matters” campaign.
Imagine you’re in a crisis and have nowhere to turn—because of language barriers, lack of insurance, or difficulty navigating complex medical systems. Now imagine knowing that there is a place you can go. A place where you can speak your language, talk unapologetically about your situation and your culture—and someone will listen without judgement and provide support.
That’s what we do at KCCEB.
We provide free of cost, culturally responsive mental health services to individuals and families. From one-on-one counseling and crisis intervention to art-based healing workshops and peer-led support groups, we’re breaking down the barriers that keep too many people from getting the care they deserve.
But now, with drastic cuts in federal funding—$11.4 billion to be specific—the future of these vital services remain uncertain.
That’s why we need your help more than ever.
Our staff don’t just serve the community—they are the community. They speak the languages, understand the experiences, and honor the identities of the people who walk through our doors.
Your support means someone gets mental health services before it's too late. It means a youth gets to talk about their anxiety. A parent gets tools to cope with stress and trauma. A family can get stronger together.
Will you help us keep the momentum and continue our work?
Together, we can keep this lifeline strong and steady.
