Kearney Community Theatre

Kearney Community Theatre’s purpose is to enrich and enlighten our community through theatrical entertainment and education.

For 38 years KCT has given local live theater to Kearney and south-central Nebraska – performed for the community, by the community. KCT’s purpose over these years has been to provide opportunities for all members of our community to be involved - both on and off stage - in top quality live theatre. Through our annual season of main stage productions and the Academy of Children’s Theater, KCT involves hundreds of volunteers in productions that play to consistently enthusiastic reviews and crowded houses.

Since 1990, KCT has produced an annual season of five productions, which consists of three comedy/dramas and two musicals. In the last 23 years, KCT’s stage has entertained audiences with over 125 plays. Additionally KCT’s young people’s theater arm, The Academy of Children’s Theater (ACT) provides performing arts classes for young people ages 8 to 18. ACT presents at least two major productions each year.

KCT welcomes and encourages all those who wish to participate, help, and express themselves through theater.
