Kearney Community Theatre

Kearney Community Theatre's mission is to entertain, educate, and inspire the public through the promotion, and production of the dramatic arts for and by the community. We continue to strive to provide the best theatrical experience at KCT for all patrons and volunteers! We are so appreciative of your generosity and support of our mission.

We are celebrating our 48th year with our 2025-2026 season!

At KCT we believe theater is an interactive art form that creates a conversation between the audience and those on stage. It not only entertains but also challenges and provokes us. It often forces us to explore thoughts and ideas that differ from our own. We leave the theater talking about what we just experienced laughing over funny moments, questioning the playwright's intention, disagreeing with the play's conclusions, and singing one of the show tunes - all of which foster a sense of community!

For almost 50 years KCT has given local live theater to Kearney and south-central Nebraska - performed for the community, by the community. KCT's purpose over these years has been to provide opportunities for all members of our community to be involved - both on and off stage - in top-quality live theater. Through our annual season of main stage productions and productions by the Academy of Children's Theater, KCT involves hundreds of volunteers from around the state in productions that play to consistently enthusiastic reviews and crowded houses.
