The mission of the Kearney Symphony Orchestra is to serve and cultivate, to the highest level possible, the musical and artistic needs of the University of Nebraska at Kearney students, the Kearney community, and the diverse culture of Central Nebraska.

For over a century, music lovers from all parts of Nebraska have gathered in Kearney to join in the camaraderie of playing and listening to great symphony orchestra literature, as well as popular favorites. The Kearney Symphony Orchestra, which is comprised of UNK faculty and students as well as talented instrumentalists from communities across the region, performs classical and pops concert repertoire, opera, musicals, and large works with choir.

The orchestra is open to all who qualify through audition. Auditions are held on the first Tuesday of each semester (August and January) UNK Fine Arts Building. Auditions may be scheduled independently by contacting Interim Music Director, Erin Beave - email: conductor.kso @gmail.com

The Kearney Symphony Orchestra is under the direction of Mr. Erin Beave.
