Keeping Our Promise Inc

Keeping Our Promise, Inc. is one of the most comprehensive resettlement program for Afghan, Iraqi and Kurdish interpreters and support personnel in the United States today.

Based in Rochester, NY, we assist with initial visa applications under the Special Immigrant Visa Program for wartiem allies. Once visas are granted, we work with local resettlement agencies and find and furnish our allies' first apartments and help with food. After 100 hours of community service, a family can qualify for a modest car grant to purchase a vehicle to get to work. Caring Circles help to integrate families into their new lives so they can quickly become contributing members of the Rochester, NY community. 

With housing/rental costs soaring, your donation will help with small monthly rental subsidies to help a wartime ally family with a modest, but clean and safe apartment. 

Our local community is now home to over 750 Pashtuns, Uzbeks, Tajiks, Hazara, Turkmen and Nuristanis from Afghanistan, Sunni and Shia Iraqis, as well as Kurdish allies, who served the U.S. and came to Rochester under the Special Immigrant Visa program for their faithful and honorable service to the United States in a war-zone. 

We have helped combat interpreters, drivers, and those who worked as support personnel for the U.S. State Dept. and USAID programs.
