Kelso Public Schools Foundation’s Grant Program supports programs and innovative classroom activities which benefit a substantial segment of students for which public resources are insufficient! All funds raised through GiveBIG 2024 will support the Grant Program.
Examples of Grant projects:
- Social Emotional Learning Center Supplies: Games, Puzzles, Squishy Balls, Stress Balls, Thera Putty, etc.: Elementary School
- Fitness Finder supplies: PE classes and Running Club, Elementary School
- Transportation to attend SW Washington Symphony’s Children’s Concerts, Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, District wide, all 5th grade students
- Robotics for Elementary School students to learn coding and solve problems
- Books: District wide, multiple classrooms and grade levels
- Scholastic Magazines: District wide, multiple classrooms and grade levels
- Games: Middle School Math; Elementary School multilingual students
- "Cooking and Sewing for Real Life", middle school program, "hands on" experience: hand/machine sewing, cooking, reading/changing recipes, shopping, etc.
- Adaptive Bike: Tricycle to be used by Special Education secondary students for PE, track practice and track meets
- Airbrushing for Artists: KHS 2-D art students and ceramic students; airbrushes for drawing/painting and airbrush gun designed for ceramic glaze
- Lunch Bunch Games and Book Making: Kelso Virtual Academy: monthly meeting for students, staff, families and student leaders
- Assist with High School student fees: School clubs, Class uniforms: Fire, Police & Health Science classes, college applications, tech school entrance exams, SAT/ACT, AP exams
