Kentucky Author Forum's mission is to bring gifted minds, books and ideas to the community, striving to reach as broad an audience as possible. The Kentucky Author Forum, founded in 1996, features brilliant minds of our time in an interview format, and is the only Louisville event which is nationally distributed to PBS television affiliates. Kentucky Author Forum creatively matches expert authors and interviewers for staged events at The Kentucky Center's Bomhard Theater for 600-800+ audience members. The magic of these Great Conversations is the dialogue between our featured authors and equally distinguished interviewers. Over the years, KAF Guests have included Supreme Court Justices, Secretaries of State, artists, Nobel Laureates and Pulitzer Prize-winners. KAF arranges seminars at the University of Louisville for students and faculty, and meetings with local business and civic leaders. Staged interviews are filmed by KET and distributed as "Great Conversations" to PBS television affiliates. KAF reaches an infinite national audience through these platforms. KAF’s national outreach strengthens Louisville’s profile, and highlights the educational, cultural and civic life of our community. In addition to KAF's staged events, the podcast series "Great Podversations" features fascinating authors and experts in conversation about books and ideas. These 'Podversations' are available for free on all podcast apps, distributed by Louisville Public Media.
