The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts administers a nationally recognized Education and Community Arts mission, which includes the Governor's School for the Arts, Arts in Healing, School Programs and ArtsReach.

Through these programs, the Center partners with schools, teachers, community centers, health care facilities, colleges and universities, artists, and performing arts centers throughout the Commonwealth to provide on-site immersive arts experiences and resources to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

In 2012, the Center served 25,000 patrons through its Education & Community Arts mission, directly serving 10,000 young people through hands-on arts instruction, performance opportunities and ticket subsidies.

More than 200 young Kentucky artists come together every summer for three weeks of intensive interaction, training, and artistic exploration at the nationally recognized Governor’s School for the Arts, a donor-supported program administered by The Kentucky Center. GSA has served over 4,700 students, since its inception.

100 community centers and arts organizations in 8      cities participate in The Kentucky Center’s ArtsReach program, offering free arts instruction and hands-on experiences to staff, youth, families, adults and senior citizens.

Since 2009, over 24,000 patients and individuals have enjoyed 1000+ hours of arts experiences in area hospitals and health care facilities through The Kentucky Center’s Arts in Healing program.

Over 21,450 educators have been trained by The Kentucky Center through our innovative and nationally acclaimed arts education programs. These teachers, in turn, have impacted over 5,000,000 students.
