Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty

$1,950 raised by 15 donors

The Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty is an over thirty-year-old legacy organization fighting to end the use of capital punishment in Kentucky.

This year has been an unfortunate watershed moment in the death penalty movement.  Attorney General Russell Coleman has worked tirelessly to place Kentucky at the forefront of the national resurgence of interest in capital punishment. If Russell Coleman has his way, Kentucky will return to executing people after an over fifteen-year hiatus in executions and an over ten-year hiatus in new death sentences handed down. We are fighting that every step of the way.

When people learn the truth about Kentucky's death penalty, the solution is clear across the political spectrum: abolish the death penalty. We need help extending our reach in the surrounding central KY area (Bourbon, Scott, Harrison, Bath, etc). to educate people about the death penalty in Kentucky and to help them take action to stop it! We are preparing to hire a part-time organizer to achieve these goals, but with your support, we can make that position full-time, which will greatly enhance those efforts!
