KPFC was created as a 501c3 nonprofit charity in 1998 when the Statewide Partnership of Kentucky for Effective Support and the Kentucky Family Based Services Association merged to become Kentucky Partnership for Families and Children, Inc (KPFC).

With this merge came a united voice which is dedicated to improving services for children in Kentucky with emotional, social, and behavioral challenges. KPFC provides the platform for parents and professionals in Kentucky to come together and truly work as a partnership to help children, adolescents and youth with mental illness.

KPFC’s united voice works to:

  • Affect policy changes at the state level by educating legislators about the needs of children with severe emotional disabilities.
  • Improve services so that all children and families will be able to receive appropriate services in their communities.
  • Give a voice to the youth and families that live with this disability each day.
  • Empower, and provide the tools and support, children and youth need to overcome the challenges of mental illness and stigma associated, and achieve their full potential in life!
