Join Us in Protecting the Kern

The Kern River is more than a recreation destination—it is a living ecosystem, a cultural landmark, and a beloved refuge for Californians. As federal agencies face unprecedented limitations, the responsibility to protect this landscape falls on all of us. Your investment will directly support urgent, high-impact programs that keep our wild places wild and our communities safe.

Help us raise money for support to address the escalating impacts of outdoor recreation and tourism along the Wild & Scenic Kern River.

Due to a prolonged budget and staffing crisis within the U.S. Forest Service, public lands in the Sequoia National Forest are experiencing severe challenges in visitor management, environmental protection, and public safety. As stewards of the Kern River and surrounding areas, we is stepping up to fill this growing void—but we cannot do it alone.

Kern River Conservancy is stepping up to fill this critical gap, but the truth is: we can't do it alone.

Your support can make a real, immediate difference. Here’s how you can help protect the Kern River and ensure safe, sustainable access for future generations:

Your contribution directly funds boots-on-the-ground programs that provide:

1. Field staff and volunteer patrols to educate visitors and reduce impacts

    2. Trash removal and cleanup supplies

    3. Leave No Trace signage and workshops

    4. Purchasing trash bags, pickers and gloves for volunteers

    5. Trail Maintenance

    6. Visitor engagement teams

The Kern River needs guardians now more than ever.
With your help, we can meet this moment—and keep the wild truly wild.
