Kids Enjoy Exercise Now

KEEN San Francisco is a nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families and caregivers. KEEN's mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of its athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals.

Since 2006 we've offered programs to families from all over the Bay Area at locations around San Francisco and in the East Bay.

Children participate in sessions of KEENquatics (swimming), Basketball, our core program of general Sports & Adaptive Tennis.  We also have special sessions of field days, picnics, movie nights, Giants games and annual Holiday party.

KEEN San Francisco is part of a national organization that was founded over 20 years ago.  Based on the idea that parents are paying for everything out of pocket, exhausted and looking for opportunities where their children can; play, be accepted and socially & emotionall grow - all the while getting a little exercise and learning some independence - KEEN has become a respite for families, a free source of enjoyment for kiddos and an opportunity for volunteers to network and learn a little more about children with special abilities.
