Since 1999 Kids Saving The Rainforest has been protecting the rainforest and it's wildlife inhabitants from increasing development around Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Two compassionate nine year old girls noticed that the rainforest was disappearing and it's wild animals were being hurt or killed. The girls made jewelry and painted rocks to sell to tourists for the initial investment matched by Mom. One of the first projects included erecting blue rope monkey bridges over the roads where fatalites were common or where animals were using uninsulated electric lines to cross. Trees were planted in corridors to develop habitat and safe passage for the endangered endemic titi monkey to encourage the subspecies to rebound from about 1200 left in the world to close to 3 times that number today.

Inspired beginnings have developed into a struggling organization ready to grow into a mature global leader in working with wild animals. One objective is to protect and provide care to sick and injured animals and return them safely to their home in the rainforest. Another of our many successful ongoing projects is the education of kids and adults about the importance of the rainforests and wild animals.

The sponsorship levels to the right represent costs for projects and animal rescue or sanctuary care which need continual funding to support. On our website sponsorship level page Sponsorship Level photo to Learn More about that program and see how we will use your donated money: http://www.kidssavingtherainforest.org/become-a-member.html

Below this section is our specific project area, where we will be adding projects we would like to accomplish in the next year as funding becomes available. The first project is greatly enhancing our ability to work with and safely release sloths.  We will build a fabulous new prerelease enclosure where sloths will learn the lifeskills necessary to survive in the wild, plus we will launch a state of the art program utilizing electronic collars to take safe releases and followup to the next level.

Thank you for joining our quest to help the animals of the rainforest! If you would like to learn more about how to help go to http:/ http://kidssavingtherainforest.org/get-involved/ or click on How I can Help? Tab on the left border of our site for more exciting fundraising ideas.
