The Kids Theatre Company

TKTC serves Kinder through High School students in the greater Long Beach area through programming at The TKTC Studio and LB partner-schools.

TKTC's "For Kids, By Kids" Philosophy reveals itself in and through each and every production. TKTC is where kids ARE the story; they write the story, the kids tell the story in each production, and they have a hand in each and every aspect of a theatrical production, from picking a script, to rewriting, to storyboarding, lighting, sets, sound, acting, singing, and/or directing, the KIDS of TKTC are the ones who make it all happen!

There are many children's theatre companies whose mission is to prepare children and young adults for the world of the theater; that is not the case at TKTC. At The Kids Theatre Company, the theatre arts are merely the vehicle through which brilliance is revealed. A child may explore their passion for performing or for supporting a production behind the scenes, yet what is really happening is they are learning to connect, work collaboratively, and they are learning to support each other and themselves within a safe and encouraging environment.

Whether a TKTC kid is an introvert or an extrovert, attends a main-stream classroom during the day or learns within a special ed environment or is homeschooled, whether they are on the autism spectrum, or if they are simply a child who has been labeled as "a little different," they have a home at TKTC. Children are provided with an environment where they are able to grow and thrive and excel in their own way and along their own timeline.

Providing this nurturing space for children to grow and THRIVE as individuals and as happy, healthy members of their families and communities IS our Mission.
