The Kinnickinnic River Land Trust (KRLT) is a community-based land trust in the Kinnickinnic River Watershed in Western Wisconsin. We are dedicated to working with the community to conserve and protect the beauty and health of the Kinnickinnic River and its watershed.

We work in cooperation with the community, landowners, private organizations, and governmental units to conserve the resources we value – clean water, wildlife, recreation, natural areas, wild trout, scenic beauty, and family farms. In short, we protect the land surrounding the Kinni River, including wetlands, tributaries, forests, prairies, and sections of the river.  A healthy ecosystem supports the quality and health of the water.

Your generosity protects the Kinnickinnic River for future generations!

The latest restoration project is at the Headwaters Preserve in the upper Kinnickinnic River watershed. Watch the video below to learn more about the nature preserve's future prairie and oak savannah. Your support is essential for this and other restoration projects, land protection, and educational efforts.
