Kirkland Preschool's 2022 Fundraiser

We are a nonprofit school near downtown Kirkland, Washington.

 We have served pre-Kindergarten-aged children & their families since 1969.

Our 2022 fundraising goal is to raise $10,000 to support Family Scholarships; Facility Updates; & an Emergency Contingency Fund.

With over 50 years in the early childhood education field, we are one of the longest continuously running nonprofit preschools in the Greater Seattle area.  We have facilitated a multi-generational culture of creativity, respect, and responsibility through play-based learning. We cultivate ever-changing, rich learning environments, both indoors and out, that foster a lifelong love of curiosity & learning in each child. 

As a self-supported preschool (non-religious affiliated, franchised, or school district related/supported), we do not have the financial backing and resources often accorded to preschools that operate under religious, corporate, or educational umbrellas.

While our utmost priority is staying open, affordable, & accessible, we also strive to continually advance & expand our programs. Our response to economic & systemic disparities reaching unprecedented extremes has been further developing how we teach the skills of teamwork, community, & citizenship. 

We believe children learn by doing.  We are very active and very creative.  At Kirkland Preschool, our teachers work with each family to foster a love of learning & a zest for living in every child. 

We have presented students with age-appropriate civic projects, group challenges, consent, & compassion-based communication, in addition to many other tools to navigate our quickly changing world. We are broadening stewardship education with the installation of new outdoor learning spaces in our front garden, & building connections between self, others, & the natural world. Listening to & respecting each other is emphasized throughout every learning experience & environment.
