Kitsap Ski School

Kitsap Ski School was founded in 1969 as the premier ski education program for Kitsap County. The program is open to all students in grades 5 through 12 from the surrounding area. Since the program doors opened, thousands of students have learned how to safely ski and snowboard while learning to enjoy the great outdoors.

In the fall of 2018, Kitsap Ski School reorganized to became a 501(c)3 organization and became an independent organization. In an effort to maintain the program, keep the price down so it is more accessible to all children, and provide scholarships where appropriate, we are seeking donations through the Kitsap Great Give.

Studies indicate that in the next generation, a greater number of children will suffer more significant health concerns compared to their parents as a result of the alarming rate of worsening childhood and adolescent obesity. Combine that with the growing trend of non-physically active video game and smart phone use among children, keeping kids active is of paramount importance not just to their lives, but in fact to our entire country's future.

Each year Kitsap Ski School provides six Saturday trips from Silverdale to Stevens Pass and we are looking forward to the 2024-25 season. Transportation and ski/snowboard instruction is provided as part of the program. Through the program our students make friends, build self-confidence, and develop skills in a sport that will keep them active not just now, but for the rest of their lives.
