What makes Knock Foundation a unique non-profit?

It is a relationship-based organization with one African village as its focal point.

Over the last three years, Knock has immersed itself into the village of Rau in northern Tanzania. By committing itself to one village, it has created a network of like-minded individuals who are similarly loyal to the improvement of life in Rau.

Knock has established specific goals in several spheres critical to Rau's growth: education, child care, health care, and self-sustainable development. All work we do stems from an abiding belief that to reach one's full potential, every human being must have the opportunity to pursue an education, practice healthy living, and exist in a clean environment.  We accomplish this by working closely with the local community, listening to their needs and collaboratively developing self-sustaining and holistic approaches to alleviating poverty and its attendant problems. 

Knock had humble beginnings in Rau offering meager financial support to a center for orphans and vulnerable children.  In just three short years, Knock is seeing the completion of a brand new children's and community center in Rau, along with providing over 20 educational scholarships, annual HIV/AIDS-Healthy Living educational seminars, two primary school lunch programs, and other income-generating projects reaching hundreds of people.
