KoKo NYC is an arts-based science and engineering program for kids. Through the use of recyclables, repurposed materials (discarded printers, blenders and other electronics) as well as lumber and hand tools, KoKo kids become creative engineers exploring every-day objects in a new and inventive way. By having kids tinker and build with unconventional and recycled materials, KoKo is also teaching them about sustainability, putting a focus on the environment and how we can positively impact our planet.

KoKo trusts kids, which teaches kids to trust themselves, whether using power tools or sketching out an idea for a new invention. We believe that when given the opportunity kids are capable of more than we think, so kids in our workshops as young as 7 use tools such as saws, drills, hammers. In the spirit of this philosophy, KoKo teaching artists serve simply as guides and mentors, keeping kids, and their brilliant ideas, at the center of every project.

Join us today to challenge kids and families in NYC and beyond to get creative and think like the innovators we know they are!
