Susan G. Komen is fighting every day to finish what we started and achieve our vision of a world without breast cancer.

Supporting Susan G. Komen through San Diego Gives allows locals to ignite their generosity for our breast cancer community. All funds raised through the campaign stay in San Diego county, distributed to San Diego recipients through our Financial Assistance Program.

The Kaiser Family Foundation found that more than 50% of women delay or avoid breast cancer care because of the cost, choosing to prioritize their families and children over their own health and instead using already limited financial resources for food, bills, and/or transportation costs. Your support ensures no one has to make the difficult decision of getting the treatment they need to save their life or putting food on the table for their family.

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the CureĀ® and launched the global breast cancer movement.

Today, Susan G. Komen is the boldest community fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested almost $2 billion to fulfill our promise, working to end breast cancer in the U.S. and throughout the world through ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy, and programs in more than 50 countries.
