Community Pregnancy Center (CPC) has been offering hope, truth and support to women and couples in our community since 1984. All of our services, including pregnancy tests and ultrasounds are free of charge, as well as our parenting and life skills classes that are based on the Word of God. Our services minister to those who are experiencing a planned or unplanned pregnancy by offering alternatives to abortions. We hope to enable women through education, material goods, and support to make healthy life choices and to succeed in parenting. Parenting, even in the best of situations, can be challenging and there are many parents in our community who are desperate for help and support. After a positive pregnancy test, both men and women can come to CPC for one-on-one classes with a trained volunteer. These classes are part of the nationally acclaimed “Earn While You Learn” program (EWYL). EWYL offers clients education and mentoring on a variety of topics, such as: prenatal & postpartum care, parenting, relationships and life skills, while also providing for the practical needs of their children. Instead of randomly giving baby items away, this program allows clients to earn “Mommy Money” or “Daddy Bucks” for each EWYL class which they can spend on diapers, formula, car seats, baby clothes and furniture in our baby store. In 2013, we had over 2,800 client visits and distributed over 28,000 diapers! Statistics show that over forty percent of women of childbearing age have had an abortion, so there are many women in our area who have made decisions in the past that they may regret. This is why CPC is now offering P.A.C.E. (Post Abortion Counseling & Education). This confidential class uses a biblically based study titled, “Surrendering the Secret.” that helps women release the guilt and shame they carry from past decisions. Participants build supportive relationships and decrease their sense of isolation and alienation as God provides healing. Community Pregnancy Center is a non-profit 501 c 3 organization and we also qualify for the Arizona Working poor tax. We are able to offer these services because of generous gifts from our donors.
