Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools is to advance equity and educational access through the advocacy, support, and promotion of excellent charter schools in Louisiana. Our vision is for a Louisiana where all children reach their full potential.

Broadly, Louisiana Association for Public Charter Schools' (LAPCS) work serves all parents and families demanding high quality public school options statewide. More specifically, LAPCS provides direct services for 126 member schools and their board members and, indirectly, supports the students and parents and caregivers in each of these school communities.

The Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools (LAPCS) aims to improve public education in Louisiana by proactively advocating, supporting, and promoting charter school quality. By focusing specifically on building the capacity of charter school administrators, governing boards, and authorizers, LAPCS works to ensure that bold reform efforts expand student achievement inside and outside the classroom. As the leading voice for public charter schools at the local and state levels, LAPCS has directly impacted the growth and accountability of Louisiana charter schools.

Testimonials

"LAPCS is an invaluable resource in defending educational freedom in Louisiana. Public charter schools are critical to ensuring parents have real, meaningful choices in the education of their children. I am grateful for the work in dispelling myths, addressing key issues, and communicating with my colleagues in the legislature, the media, and education stakeholders across the state." -- Nancy Landry, Former State Representative & House Education Committee Chair
