Lake Saint Louis Water Ski Club

A nonprofit organization

An interest in slalom skiing by a group of young children in the early 1970s was the catalyst for the formation of the Lake Saint Louis Water Ski club. By 1975 skiers had taught themselves the basics of waterskiing, practicing regularly, and anticipating competition of regional tournaments. The exponential growth over the last four decades gave rise to the formation of three groups within the Ski Club: Show-Me Skiers, Arch Rivals, and 3-event.

Show-Me Skiers is the introductory group that performs each year for Fourth of July. Here the skiers learn the basics of rope coiling, care of equipment, water safety, and the basics of towed water sports in a ski show setting. These skiers usually begin at age 5 and from there the sky is the limit! They excel both as a team and individually.

Arch Rivals is a competitive show-ski team. These advanced skiers compete regionally and nationally in choreographed one hour shows. The shows are scored on originality and difficulty of tricks. Barefoot skiing, human pyramids, ballet lines, and swivel skis are just a few of the acts that you will witness in this spectacular show!

3-event skiing entails trick, jump, and slalom skiing. The skiers compete individually in regional and national tournaments. They are scored on successfully executing difficult tricks, the farthest jump, and the most buoys while traveling at the quickest speed.

Seeing the learning that is taking place both on and off the water is immeasurable. Our equipment and costumes are subject to much wear and tear throughout the year since they are utilized almost daily. Please help our sequins retain their luster, our spandex continue to shine, ropes to pull us along to bigger and brighter futures, and skis continue to carry us smoothly over the calm and rough waters of life!
