La Sierra University Church

La Sierra University Church is a 2,600-member Seventh-day Adventist congregation that seeks to minister to its diverse community – made up of thoughtful students, young adults, multi-generational Adventists, and small and large families alike. Our mission is to participate in the life building work of the church by sharing the very good news of the gospel through service to humanity and our community. 

La Sierra University Church’s Community Services Program is one of its most impactful programs that builds and strengthens the surrounding community. This program provides food and clothing to approximately six hundred families in need every month. Further, the ministry offers social services assistance, which includes job searches, resume writing, information about medical insurance eligibility, citizenship and ESL classes, food handlers permit certification, and additional community resources.

The church is located next to La Sierra University in western Riverside, in the Inland Empire region of southern California. Founded in the 1920s, the church initially served the then La Sierra College, and also La Sierra Academy, which is on the other side of the church. Over the years, we have become a major community church, with hundreds coming from all over Riverside and other nearby towns. We have a rich blend of ethnic diversity, with Hispanics, Filipinos, Indians, Middle Eastern, Caribbean, Asian, and other groups adding color and culture to our worship and community.
