What We Do

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT 

La Veta Trails would not be what it is without its volunteers, donors, and supporters.

VOLUNTEER STEWARDS

We provide opportunities for people to act on their stewardship ethic. 

YOUTH STEWARDS

We offer opportunities for youth to work outside and get hands-on training on leadership development, care and maintenance of trails and trail structures, and Leave No Trace.

ENVIROMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

We work with our partners to execute priority projects that improve wildlife habitat, address the negative impact of recreational use, restore open spaces, mitigate wildfire, and educate volunteers and community members on relevant ecological topics.

SKILLS AND LEADERSHIP

We provide opportunities for Volunteer Stewards and Technical Crew members to improve their skills through training and certification.

OUTDOOR RECREATION INFRASTRUCTURE

We support our partners through grant writing, planning and construction, and community fundraising to demonstrate support for and develop new outdoor recreation amenities.

EVENTS

We host community, trail, and fundraising events for supporters to be involved with La Veta Trails.

PARKS AND TRAIL BUILDING

We support our partners through grant writing, planning and construction, and community fundraising to demonstrate community support for parks, trails, and recreational amenities.
