Lambda Literary nurtures and advocates for LGBTQ writers, elevating the impact of their words to create community, preserve our legacies, and affirm the value of our stories and our lives.

For over 30 years, Lambda Literary has championed LGBTQ books and authors. No other organization in the world serves LGBTQ writers and readers more comprehensively than Lambda Literary. We believe that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer literature is fundamental to the preservation of our culture, and that LGBTQ lives are affirmed when our stories are written, published, and read.

Our programming is designed to celebrate and nourish LGBTQ writers at any point in their careers:

LGBTQ Writers in Schools brings acclaimed authors directly into NYC public schools to discuss LGBTQ literature and equality with young people.

The Lambda Literary Awards shines national attention on the best LGBTQ books each year.

The Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices provides an intensive residency to nurture the skills of up-and-coming writers under the guidance of some of our community's most accomplished authors.

The Lambda Literary Review offers free book reviews, interviews, industry news, and calls for submission of interest to queer book lovers around the world.
