Latah County Historical Society Inc

The Latah County Historical Society traces its roots to the Latah County Pioneer Association first organized in the late 19th century.  In 1965 several local groups, including the Moscow Historical Club and the Pioneer Association, came together to form LCHS.  Unlike earlier organizations, LCHS committed to preserve and promote the history of all Latah County residents, not just those decended from pioneer families.  For nearly 50 years the Society has fostered historic literacy through education outreach programs and publications such as the annual journal Latah Legacy.  The Society also hosts researchers four days a week in the archives, where extensive photograph, document, and object collections are maintained.
