The Lauderdale County Children's Policy Council is an active council under the leadership of Circuit Court Judge Billy Jackson. The primary goal of the council is to ensure that children in our community receive the services needed to become healthy. productive adults. The council is composed of six supportive and energetic committees, who work diligently in their respected areas of interest to achieve the goals of the CPC. The committees are; (1) Economic Security-address issues that effect children growing up in a finacially stable home in which basic needs can be met, (2) Education-address the issues that effect children learning the skills necessary to becoming productive adults, (3) Health-address the physical and mental well being of children ages 0-19, (4) Parent Involvement-address the issues related to parents and guardians becoming effective in parenting and rearing children into mature, responsible, and independent adults, (5) S.A.V.E.-address children living free of abuse, neglect, crime, and drugs, and (6) Smart Start-address children ages 0-5 becoming fully developed emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively.
