This #GivingTuesday, we're raising $5,000 for adult literacy to make our community stronger!

Imagine going through life unable to read or speak English.  Imagine attempting to deal with bills, package labels, bus schedules, medication instructions, bank statements and job applications.  That's the situation facing thousands of native and foreign born adults in Montgomery County. The need is great -- 1 in 6 residents of Montgomery County is considered "limited English proficient," and countless others read below a 4th grade level.

Our programs help adults gain literacy skills for life so they can improve their quality of life and ability to participate in the community.  LCMC offers ESL and basic literacy tutoring, ESL classes, conversation classes, and a computer language lab -- all of which are free or low-cost. Over 400 volunteers assist us each year.  Your contribution helps us foster a stronger work force, more involved parents, and an informed community.

Please help us raise $5,000 this Giving Tuesday 2017 to help us replace worn and damaged textbooks, buy technology backpacks for teachers' classrooms to benefit all kinds of learning styles, and expand our programming to provide pathways to success for each learner's individual goals.
