The Leadership Conference Education Fund (The Education Fund) was founded in 1969 and its mission is to build public will for federal policies that promote and protect the civil and human rights of all persons in the United States.  The Education Fund works to build the public understanding essential for the country to continue its journey towards social and economic justice.

The Education Fund enjoys a close relationship with The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights (The Leadership Conference), the national coalition of more than 200 civil and human rights organizations committed to the enactment and enforcement of strong federal civil rights and social justice legislation. The Education Fund assists the coalition by providing research, education and communications regarding the need for public policy that ensures equality, equal opportunity and justice for all.

Given its central position within The Leadership Conference coalition, The Education Fund’s role is unique, allowing for broader perspectives and strategies than can occur within the purview of any individual coalition organization. We draw on the expertise of a cross-section of national organizations and examine the impact of civil and human rights policy on a broad range of constituencies.  We are work to extend grassroots outreach and distribution of education materials to national organizations, their affiliates, independent community-based organizations, and the general public. Subsequently, The Education Fund’s advice and counsel is sought by policymakers and opinion shapers due to the breadth of the communities we represent.
