Leadership Long Beach

Leadership Long Beach, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 1989 by some of the Long Beach community's most influential and visionary stakeholders. These founders envisioned the formation of a civic improvement program that would serve the community by educating and motivating leaders on issues important to the future and sustainability of the community. An additional purpose was to create a network of knowledgeable and informed community leaders who would be able to support and benefit from each other as they continued in their selected areas of endeavor. The leadership programs are built on the foundation of 14 principles the organization focuses on: Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, Values, Ethics, Accountability, Vision, Personal Responsibility, Compassion, Commitment, Courage, Congruence, Service and Trusteeship. The organization strengthens the community through the 2,000+ graduates of the leadership programs, who now impact every sector of the community at every level and more than 125 community class projects that have been completed over the last 35 years.
