Welcome Housing

Welcome Housing provides hosted, transitional, furnished housing to new refugees upon entering Boise, Idaho.  We believe that their experience in the first month can determine an outlook of hope or disillusionment, and warm welcome is more important now than ever.  We are on track to open our first unit in December and a second in January!!  The support from locals and refugee families in the community has been overwhelming.  Our current funding needs include:

• funds to finish furnishing our first two units
• funds for a reserve account
• utilites (est. $200/mo)
• rent (approx. $800/mo)
• Host stipend support (approx. $300+/mo)
• insurance ($500-1000/year) 

The financial support received for the last four needs listes will determine our ability to shift funds for the next unit and give us flexbility in what we charge for 'rent'.  We are charging half the rate of the current transitional housing (extended stay hotels), but would like to eventually decrease the cost of 'rent' further as this service is established.
