Today's library is more than just books. To be competitive, it must meet the broader needs of its patrons. The library of today must provide media and internet resources for the new millennium. Today's library is now a resource for books, videos, community events, continuing education, art and so much more.

Currently, The Leeds Jane Culbreth Library contains 33,000 volumes in a space designed to handle only half that much. The computer resources are in need of improvement and expansion in wiring and space.

The space available for community use is limited. The children and teen areas are extremely inadequate. The staff's ability to properly manage the library is compromised by overcrowding and lack of visibility.

Once constructed, our new library will be a tremendous asset to our community, the only "green" building in the vicinity, and will provide a centerpiece for our downtown revitalization efforts.
