Lemhi Regional Land Trust

“Keep your grassroots” was the advice given to Lemhi Regional Land Trust’s founders in 2005 as their vision of creating a local organization focused on private lands conservation was slowly becoming a reality.  Eleven years later, twelve conservation easements, two fee title owned properties, three habitat restoration projects and 13,540 acres permanently conserved and we’ve never forgotten our humble beginnings.  We started from ground zero.  No office, no checkbook, no funding.  But we made up for what we lacked in every other area with passion.  The passion of our founders and the passion of you, our community, brought that vision to fruition.  For the past ten years, you’ve been showing up at our events, stopping by the office and making donations and we’re continually humbled and inspired by your support. 

The past eleven years have been a wild ride and we’ve been able to create the kind of land protection organization we envisioned in the beginning: conserving iconic local ranches that provide prime fish and wildlife habitat and contribute to our local economy; joining the ranks of nationally accredited land trusts and becoming the go to organization for local private lands conservation.  But with each conservation easement completed, we make a promise to work with the current landowner and every landowner that comes after them to ensure the terms of the agreement are being met, in perpetuity.  Eleven years in, that means we’re just gaining momentum, because we’re truly in this for the long haul—FOREVER.  You can help us continue to grow and thrive, just as you already have.  Whether you make a one time contribution or a smaller monthly contribution,  every penny counts and every penny stays right here in our community.
