Life Choices Women's Center

in 2007, six women from NE Seminole County went to lunch & discussed the need for outreach to young women & families struggling with cultural consequences of uninformed choices & unplanned pregnancies.  They all either had children who had been in need of these services or had friends/family who did.  So they rolled up their sleeves and went to work scraping together the money to rent and renovate a closed tatoo parlor. They transformed it into a warm & welcoming little pregnancy help center where they offered free pregnancy tests, peer counseling & lots of love.

Today, they've moved to a more convenient location for the people they serve and have expanded services to include free ultrasounds, a DVD library that contains hundreds of well produced & educational lessons on everything from pregnancy & infant development to life skills & relationships. For their educational efforts, clients receive "boutique bucks" with which they shop in LCWC's boutique for everything they need if they choose to parent their baby, including diapers, car seats and cribs! An average of 100 girls/women per month are now served and that number is growing. And that's not counting the young men and babies who we help! Schools & Church youth groups can even call on LCWC to provide Sexual Integrity & Culture Traps workshops for free!  Services will expand to include STI/STD testing by next year. Volunteers are also growing as God-centered people discover the compassionate & essencial support offered to the community by this loving & inclusive ministry.  

I'm Kathy & I am one of those six women who founded LCWC in 2007. I am proud of the work we do & rewarded by the smiling faces that leave our center after arriving burdened with stress & fear. There is no doubt that God is using us to love His children in need of our services. But meeting the financial obligations of this ministry is difficult. We cannot do this without our community partners who keep us afloat with donations that pay our rent & utilities, buy pregnancy tests & ultrasound supplies, educational materials, diapers & baby wipes just to name a few of our many expendetures. The families need us and we need you. Won't you please help us continue to serve our community in a loving, non-judgemental manner that uplifts & saves lives?
