Lifeline Childrens Services Inc

In 1981 Lifeline Children’s Services began to promote the sanctity of life through domestic adoption services. Lifeline ministers to the needs of young women in the midst of unplanned pregnancies through counseling, medical care and legal services as well as the option of maternity home care. Lifeline is committed to work with Christian families, to ensure that children are raised with the truth of who Jesus Christ is as their Lord and Savior. Lifeline has found homes for more than 1000 children domestically.

Lifeline joined forces with local churches and the local county Department of Human Resources to recruit, train and license foster families for children in the foster care system starting with the state of Alabama and expanding elsewhere. The need is evident, as over time, a huge disparity between the number of children requiring out-of-home care and the number of licensed foster families has developed. Opportunities to work alongside birth families are inherent in foster care, so Lifeline’s ministry reaches beyond the walls of the foster home. For many children who have never been exposed to the Gospel, our foster parents are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.

In 1999, Lifeline began responding to the needs of orphans internationally and was among the first agencies to receive Hague Accreditation. Lifeline currently has programs in China, Ukraine, Peru, Uganda, Costa Rica, Bulgaria, Hungary, Haiti, Taiwan, the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia and The Republic of the Congo with many programs still in development.

Lifeline’s International Adoption program provides a full range of consulting and social services to families seeking children in each of these countries. Our program is designed to minimize the stress, time, and costs associated with the successful adoption of a child internationally. We rejoice in a family’s call and desire to adopt one of these dearly loved children who long to have a family of their own. Lifeline was founded and continues to exist to help find loving Christian homes for precious orphans from around the world who otherwise might never experience the love and care of having a family of their own. Since 1999, Lifeline has placed more than 2,500 children into families through our international program.

Lifeline’s (un)adopted ministry exists to make a difference by helping orphaned children develop life skills and job skills while partnering with churches and businesses in various countries to setup apprenticeships so these children will have skills, places to go work, and churches who will partner with them to give them a hope and a future.
