Lighthouse for Christ Mission

A nonprofit organization

Celebrating 50 years of healing physical and spiritual blindness on the East Coast of Africa

The Lighthouse, established in 1969 and located in Mombasa, Kenya, is a Faith-based four-fold ministry - 1) world-class eye center and hospital, 2) Bible institute, 3) church planting and 4) evangelism to the Unreached. We effectively bring sight to blind children and adults, train medical staff and national pastors, share the Gospel using the critically acclaimed "Jesus Film" in their national language of Swahili and Chaplains on staff, build local churches, recruit U.S. volunteer ophthalmologists & health care professionals, church planting and building teams and offer weekly rural eye screenings to the under-served communities.

In 2019, we treated nearly 40,000 children and adults working to eliminate curable blindness. In order to serve all of East Coastal Kenya, we have by expanded our eye care services by establishing more regional eye clinics and sharing the Gospel message on a daily basis at all of our locations.

We provide world-class eye care regardless of patients ability to pay, thereby solving physical blindness. We address spiritual blindness through daily evangelism in our clinics, Jesus Film showings at rural eye screenings and church outreach and by church planting.

Lighthouse for Christ Mission is a Member of Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) since 1992 and certified by Excellence in Giving (EIG) since 2016.
We are a non-profit 501c3 organization and registered in State of Texas as a Foreign Corporation.
