Our Mission

Lillie B. Girls is a nonprofit organization that provides empowerment programs for the advancement of girls' self-esteem through activities promoting positive body image, educational achievement , and moral excellence.

 

We Believe

​We believe that every girl is beautiful, smart, and brilliant with the ability to achieve success in all endeavors . How girls view themselves inside and out affects their pursuit of great achievement, whether their views be negative or positive. Many young girls develop poor self-esteem and a negative body image as early as elementary years. This development is often caused by factors ranging from societal expectations, peer pressure, and self-doubt to various forms of abuse and lack of support. We believe that girls across the nation need more interactive environments  that enhance self-esteem, encourage self-expression, and inspire them to acknowledge the glow of their inner-beauty.

What We Do​

Lillie B. Girls is committed to spreading positive body image awareness, elevating self-esteem, and filling the gaps between fear and achievement in young girls, as a result of poor self-image. Our enrichment program activities allow girls to explore their unique qualities, share their strengths and insecurities in a warm environment, and build their self-confidence. Within the realm of self-esteem enrichment, Lillie B. Girls initiatives expand into focus areas of education and literacy, girls’ health and development, teen awareness topics, and financial literacy workshops for our high school population. We empower girls to achieve against all odds with beauty, brains, and brilliance! 

 

Our program activities incorporate arts and crafts, music, fashion, group discussion, and much more. An interactive learning environment where self-expression and creativity are combined heightens the learning experience for our program participants. Girls will have the opportunity to discuss relevant issues, brainstorm solutions, display their talents, and enhance their body image views while making new friends.

 

Our Goals

Lillie B. Girls helps girls to:

 

1. Develop a sense of self-love, and feelings of security and acceptance.

2. Strengthen inner emotional controls and greater self-discipline.

3. Develop a positive body image, enhance self-esteem, and build confidence.

4. Define and set a personal standard of beauty, brains, and brilliance. 

5. Develop favorable attitude toward learning and educational achievement.

6. Prevent school drop-outs, teen pregnancy, and drug and alcohol abuse.

7. Extend their understanding of and clarify their concept of positive peer relations, and sisterhood.

8. Increase accountability for their actions and extend their understanding of choices, and consequences.

9. Exhibit acts of leadership and community service

10. Develop self-expression and positive communication through interactive, creative arts experiences.
