The Lincoln Youth Symphony is the only symphony organization of its kind in the region. It operates at no cost to its student participants. This means that it is accessible to any student with a desire to work hard and make beautiful music. Students from area public and private schools, as well as homeschools, audition to participate in the symphony. Founded in 1957, LYS exists to encourage orchestral experience among highschoolers, and to enrich their lives through the gift of music.
